Formthotics

If sore aching feet are your problem, then Formthotics can help.

Formthotics® are a unique type of soft orthotic insole that moulds to the individual shape of your foot and supports your foot in its natural posture. This distributes your weight more evenly across the whole surface of your foot, relieving pressure and making you more comfortable.

Formthotics were invented in the late 70's by a doctor and musculoskeletal expert, Dr Charlie Baycroft. He was walking along the beach one day, wondering why so many of his patients were complaining of lower leg and foot pain. He noticed his footprints in the sand and it suddenly occurred to him, that most modern surfaces are hard and flat. Instead of standing on soft earth which conforms to the natural shape and curve of our feet, we now walk on surfaces, like concrete floors and asphalt roads, which force our feet to flatten and twist.

The doctor decided he needed a special insole that he could put inside his patients shoes to custom-fit their shoes to the shape of their feet. By supporting the foot in its natural shape, just like a footprint in the sand, he would be able to fix his patients leg and foot problems.

Formthotics are designed to put that natural support shape and surface back under your feet. The medical range of Formthotics are used by health professionals to help correct 'problem' feet. The sports and @work range of Formthotics are used by people with normal feet to cope with sports, work and the abnormal stresses of everyday modern life.
